Picture book about fairness
A red berry leads to a disagreement in the Whispering Woods. Judge Bobby the badger helps Sam the squirrel and the forest neighbors slow down, listen and look for a fair solution. The dispute keeps the focus on an everyday question children can recognize: what should happen when more than one person wants the same thing?
Read and talk about fairness
Listening to each side is part of finding a way to share fairly.
After reading, try asking: What would make a solution to the berry dispute fair? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
