Picture book about thankfulness
Frogy the frog offers sweetberries to Gideon the heron beside the river. Gideon's proud manner makes sharing less straightforward than Frogy hopes. When a gust of wind threatens the heron's favorite top hat, Frogy has a chance to help. The encounter connects gratitude with noticing another person's generosity, not just enjoying a gift.
Read and talk about gratitude
Appreciating a helping hand is part of being thankful.
After reading, try asking: What does Gideon have a reason to thank Frogy for? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
