Picture book about responsibility
Zephyr the monarch butterfly enjoys the freedom of a wildflower meadow, while Been the bumblebee has work to finish. Sharing the meadow's chores brings their different approaches together. The story explores how contributing to a common task can leave time for play, without suggesting that one friend should always do the work for both.
Read and talk about responsibility
Freedom and responsibility can fit together when work is shared.
After reading, try asking: How could Zephyr and Been share the meadow's chores? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
