Picture book about kindness
Priscilla the peacock and Bad the badger admire their looks in an enchanted castle. A mysterious mirror challenges their idea of beauty, and a shivering baby bluebird gives them a real choice to make. Will they protect their appearance or stop to help? The story connects kindness to an action the characters can take.
Read and talk about kindness
Helping someone may matter more than keeping an appearance perfect.
After reading, try asking: What choice do Priscilla and Bad face when the bluebird needs help? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
