Christmas tree picture book about wisdom
Leo wants to bring home the biggest Christmas tree in the forest, even when that choice brings danger. Arthur the woodcarver looks instead at the importance of a sound foundation. Their Christmas Eve journey contrasts an impressive appearance with a considered decision, inviting readers to ask what makes a choice sensible.
Read and talk about wisdom
Bigger is not always the same as better suited to the situation.
After reading, try asking: What does Arthur consider that Leo overlooks when choosing a tree? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
