Make music with picture patterns
A drum sounds twice, a bell joins in, and a little treetop orchestra begins to take shape. In Treetop Rhythm Studio: Pattern Puzzles for Ages 6–8, children use friendly instrument and nature symbols to notice what repeats, decide what comes next, and create a rhythm of their own. The playful music setting gives each pattern a simple story while the pages stay uncluttered and easy to print.
This original activity book focuses on patterns as its primary learning skill. It starts with a gentle two-picture warm-up, then moves through two-beat and three-piece sequences. Later pages invite children to mark repeating groups, find and repair a single wrong picture, translate a written instrument key into a drawn pattern, and follow a stair-step sequence. The final activities bring several ideas together in a concert set and a make-your-own rhythm show.
