Picture book about courage and teamwork
Gus the gorilla is large, but getting stuck high in a tree leaves him needing help. Miko the smaller monkey brings quick thinking and bravery to the rescue. Their jungle adventure separates size from usefulness and follows courage through an action taken for a friend rather than through showing off.
Read and talk about courage and teamwork
Courage can involve using an ability to help someone else.
After reading, try asking: How does Miko help even though Gus is bigger? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
