Illustrated story about forgiveness
Bob the badger gathers berries for his forest neighbors, while Vesper the Shadow-Hawk tries to spoil his day. Bob responds with patience rather than returning the unkindness. When a winter storm changes the situation, Vesper encounters the value of help and forgiveness through the neighbor he has mistreated.
Read and talk about forgiveness
A kind response can offer a way forward without pretending the earlier behavior was kind.
After reading, try asking: How does Bob respond differently from what Vesper expects? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
