Gingerbread Christmas story about honesty
At a Christmas market, Elara the baker puts care into her grandmother's recipe and the designs of her gingerbread. Silas Vane copies the designs for mass-produced goods, but appearance alone cannot replace what Elara has made. Their encounter contrasts imitation with the work behind an authentic creation, keeping honesty and effort at its center.
Read and talk about honesty and effort
The care behind something can matter as much as the way it looks.
After reading, try asking: What part of Elara's work cannot be replaced by copying its appearance? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
