Christmas elf story about hard work
Pip the elf wants to finish his chores quickly and take a nap. He uses quick-shine wax instead of properly oiling the reindeer harnesses, leaving brittle leather beneath a polished surface. When Santa notices the problem, Pip must face the difference between making a task look finished and doing the work it actually needs.
Read and talk about diligence
A shortcut can hide unfinished work without solving the underlying problem.
After reading, try asking: Why is a shiny harness not necessarily a properly cared-for harness? Let your child point to a scene or describe a character’s choice in their own words.
